National Labor Relations Act of 1935 (NLRA)
  • Also referred to as the Wagner Act of 1935
  • This bill was signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt on July 5th, 1935
  • This guranteed employees the right to unionize
  • When this was signed into law, the act applied to employers that dealed with government, agriculture, railroads and etc.
  • Declared unconstitional by the Supreme Court

1.) What were the effects of the National Relations Act of 1935 on the people?
Some of the effects on people dealed with the right to unionize. The National Relations Act of 1935 gave employees the right to form, join, or help labor organizations. This also allowed employees to come together as a union. Which means they were allowed to argue as group towards their employers.

2.) What were the effects of the National Relations Act of 1935 on the economy?
Many effects on the economy also occured throughout the National Relations Act of 1935. Some of them include that a great amount of strikes occured across the country. Violent arguments took place between the employees trying to form the unions and the police. The economy was looked at very harmfully, because of all the strikes occuring throughout the country over the many debates dealing with the employees' jobs.
